Clay Harbor: SOFTBOY
For anyone who has ever been led on by a guy to believe a relationship is far more serious than how he really feels, here's the psychological lowdown on Bachelor-in-Paradise's Clay Harbor: A softboy is a guy who acts like he’s ready for a relationship (and sometimes even thinks he is), until he inevitably changes his mind. Clay reportedly had a serious eight-month relationship with former Bachelor contestant Angela Amezcoua prior to coming on Bachelor in Paradise; according to Angela, he blindsided her with a breakup a day after discussing what names they’d choose for their babies. Long before the season ended, I correctly predicted that Clay would also break things off with his seemingly inseparable In-Paradise partner, Nicole Lopez-Alvar, by explaining that he finds himself “unsure” about the relationship (and by implication, her). As for all the physical and emotional intimacies between him and Nicole all season long: a softboy knows exactly how to tug on a girl’s heartstrings before abruptly letting go. As wonderfully hard as Clay’s body is, on the inside he’s all softboy—and not in a good way.
